As we enjoy this Thanksgiving weekend there is a great deal for which to be thankful. With your help, we have accomplished so much this year including winning seventy-six mayors offices statewide, which is a new record! After all of your hard work, please take this weekend to find time with family and friends to relax and be thankful for all our blessings.

Governor Eric Holcomb welcomed the Indiana State Poultry Association at the Statehouse this week, to celebrate their generous contributions to families in need during the holiday season.  

The Indiana Poultry Association received donations from farmers across the state for their 76th annual donation. This year, Indiana poultry farmers contributed over 200,000 pounds of poultry and 172,000 eggs.  

What he’s saying: “Today I was proud to have joined members of the #Indiana State Poultry Association at their 76th annual poultry donation in the Statehouse. #Hoosier farmers are known not only for their work ethic but also their generosity. #NextLevelIndiana”, Gov. Holcomb tweeted following the association's attendance at the Statehouse. 

What else happened this week? Gov. Holcomb returned home from his trip to Kenya with the First Lady and Indiana Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Dale Lyles, where he shared a Thanksgiving meal with Hoosier National Guard soldiers serving overseas.

"Furthermore, Indiana’s top entries were also listed as the most affordable of the safest suburbs, with Carmel, Fishers and Noblesville — in that order — taking the top spots. Brownsburg, which was listed in the ranking as the 24th safest suburb in the country, also made the top 10 most affordable."

Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen leads the way in government transparency, sharing his cell phone number in an opinion editorial with the Indy Star.  

“I share this because, as the Mayor of Noblesville, I give my number to city residents daily as we work together to answer questions or solve problems. I may not always know the answer, but I can find out who does. It is one of the ways I stay connected to the people I serve.”  

In his op-ed, Mayor Jensen shared details about his city’s new program NobleAct. 

“In Noblesville, for instance, we realized that our first responders were spending an increasing amount of time addressing mental health challenges — impacting public safety. That’s why we created NobleAct, a proactive mental health crisis and substance abuse response program in collaboration with our police and fire departments. This unique program allows police officers, community paramedics and mental health clinicians to provide linkage to community services and divert those in crisis away from the criminal justice system.”
