Hi Friend,

I want to sincerely thank you for being such a faithful supporter of our nation's severely disabled War on Terror veterans and friend of the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. I'd like to share with you just a couple of the many urgent requests that we have received in the last week from wounded heroes in desperate need of emergency financial aid.

1. A married Army veteran from Florida, with two grown children, served 11 tours overseas and was in the Army for 12 years before he was severely injured in Iraq. He was shot by a sniper and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. His wife and full-time time caregiver found out she has lupus and can no longer work. They are struggling to pay all of their bills. They need to prevent a foreclosure and utilities shut off with a total of $5,448.47.

2. A married Army veteran from Louisiana with 2 young children, was thrown twice when bombs went off during his two tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. Due to this, he suffers from a traumatic brain injury, migraine, anxiety, and PTSD. His wife does not work because she is his full-time caregiver. Once inflation hit, they have not been able to afford bills and food. They got behind on their electric bill and received a shut-off notice. They need $905.00 to become current and keep their electricity on.

Financial stress can sometimes be just too much for my fellow injured veterans to bare. We can be stubborn and it's not in our nature to ask for help.

Every day, more than 20 veterans take their own lives — a number that often increases around the holidays, when many of my fellow servicemembers and veterans struggle to afford basic living expenses, much less worry about whether they can provide their families with a decent Thanksgiving meal.

That is why the Coalition started the Thanksgiving Meals Program over 13 years ago. So caring Americans like you can say "thank you," to those who have sacrificed so much for freedom. With your support, to date, the Coalition has given over $1.25 million to provide more than 20,000 Thanksgiving meals to severely disabled veterans and their families, just like mine.
Your gift of $70 will help feed ONE family, just like the Hurth's pictured above. A gift of $140 can help feed TWO families and a generous donation of $210 will help provide food for THREE disabled veterans and their families.

"I want all the supporters to know that real families are being impacted and benefiting from all their donations. That their support offers many veterans and their families a place to turn in a moment of hardship, whether it be with a job or assistance during the holidays." - C. Hurth, shown above

As a faithful friend of the Coalition, you know that the holidays represent an even more challenging time for combat-wounded veterans already struggling to survive day by day. Especially when costs are skyrocketing and requests for aid have increased by over 50% and they continue to stream in. As a disabled War on Terror veteran myself, I understand first-hand the feelings of despair and helplessness that can overcome a wounded warrior during the holidays.

As a Coalition of compassionate caring patriots, we are hoping to restore faith and give support to more severely wounded heroes to allow them to better their lives for themselves and for their families.

If you are struggling to afford food, then please take care of you and your family first.  But if you are blessed with the ability to afford a donation today, it will help a severely disabled War on Terror veteran in desperate need of help and hope.  You can do that by making your best donation today so they can afford groceries for a holiday meal, just like you and I hope to enjoy this ThanksgivingCan I count on you to help provide just one meal?

Sincerely,
Shilo Harris SSG U.S. Army (Ret.)

P.S. For so many of my fellow disabled service members, the reality is that this time of year is far from joyful.  This Thanksgiving, will you join us to thank more wounded heroes for all that they’ve done?
