Hi! It’s Belle, Andrei’s daughter.
I’m reaching out today because my dad is busy with me and my brother making pies (plural), but I wanted to tell you what I’m thankful for this year – other than Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
I’m thankful that my dad cooks dinner for us most nights – and it usually tastes good! (On Thanksgiving, my dad is in charge of the pies, and my mom does the turkey and everything else.) He’s always been a dad who would rather stay at home to watch a movie with us than go to a fancy dinner.
I have spent a good amount of time (13 years) with my dad, so I think I’m qualified to say it’s pretty cool he’s running for Congress. When I first talked about the idea with him, I felt very proud of him for wanting to help make things better and make our country a better place.
So this year, I’m also thankful to be (along with my brother) the most important part of my dad’s campaign – the reason he’s running. I've gotten to go door to door with him and to hear him speak at events, and when I hear him talk about the future he’s fighting for, I know it’s for me and my generation.
You might be busy today with your own Thanksgiving plans – even if you’re not making as many pies as my dad and us – but if you have a few minutes to spare, will you chip in to my dad’s campaign for Congress?
