John,
As we approached Thanksgiving, I had been thinking a lot about what has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging, hectic, and rewarding years of my life. One of the things I would recommend to every single American, I know it's not possible, by the way - If you ever want to love your country more, run for president. Traveling this country and meeting all of you has been one of the most fantastic experiences of my entire life.
As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, I am reminded of the countless blessings that grace our lives—blessings that resonate deeply within the core of our American spirit. This holiday is not just a time for turkey and pecan pie (don’t get me wrong, I love those too); it's a moment to reflect on the values that bind us together as a nation, as families, and as individuals guided by faith.
I’m so thankful for having had the opportunity to run for the highest office in the land and the support of God, my family, and all of you along the way. I wanted to take some time here to give you all the thanks you deserve.
Romans 8:28 is such an important scripture. It says that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. I thank God every day that I had this opportunity.
To my Mama. Thank you for being my rock. Without your belief in me and your steadfast dedication to providing for our family, I would not be where I am today. Each time I took the stage and saw your smiling face in the crowd, I knew I was living your American Dream.
Much like that of countless Americans, my journey is etched with the sacrifices of those who came before me. This Thanksgiving, let us honor our heritage and the indomitable spirit of our families—the bedrock upon which the American Dream is built.
To America, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the exceptional nation we call home. Our history is a testament to the enduring spirit of democracy, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This Thanksgiving, let us celebrate the resilience that defines us, recognizing that the American story is one of progress.
In a world often marked by uncertainty, America stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity. We are a nation that believes in the power of individual responsibility, hard work, and the promise of a better tomorrow. As we give thanks, let us also commit ourselves to preserving the ideals that make America exceptional—a land of freedom, opportunity, and justice for all.
I’d be remiss if I mention the exceptional country we live in without giving thanks to those who help defend it every day. To our service members who lay their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, a heartfelt thank you. My brothers’ and father’s decades of combined military service showed me the sacrifice in safeguarding our nation and what it means to live the ideals they dedicate their lives to upholding. Our men and women in uniform deserve our thanks this holiday season and every day in between.
To those who supported my campaign, thank you for having the same faith in me that I do for each and every one of you. I am going to remain as committed to making sure that this country chooses the right person by enjoying the journey of helping people everywhere throughout South Carolina and throughout our country.
Our goal should be to unite this country and not take advantage of the divisions of this country. We need to spend more time talking about the goodness of America, the future of America, and having faith in God, faith in each other, and faith in our future. The more we do this, the better off we will be as Americans, and the more likely we are to come back together to be that one nation under God.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, joy, and the abundance of blessings that make this nation truly extraordinary. God Bless you, and God Bless America.
