Even as the end of 2023 rapidly approaches, my commitment to delivering results for our community remains steadfast. This week, I was proud to announce new resources to help protect some of our most vulnerable from bad actors who may seek to take advantage of them. Read more below.

Unfortunately, the holiday season can often bring with it a rise in scams targeting older Americans, a trend both concerning and increasingly prevalent. On Tuesday, I was glad to be joined by my friend Ann Marie Cook from Lifespan and the YMCA of Greater Rochester to outline our work to protect our community from these bad actors.

The Federal Trade Commission has a number of resources available, not only to educate members of our community on the types of scams they should be on the lookout for, but also providing ways to report any potential scams they come across this holiday season. The FTC is already reporting increased fraudulent activities for this year, but by staying informed and vigilant, we can ensure this time of year remains a time of joy.
