Thanks to the long-running support of your fellow members and supporters, I'm close to finalising our new report on the 2019 local elections in England.
We've announced some of my initial findings already. Last week we revealed that in 17 English councils, the party with the largest number of votes did not secure the most seats. These ‘wrong winner’ results are a damning indictment of England’s woefully out-dated voting system.
In nearly half of all council elections this May, a single party won over half the council seats up for election, despite getting fewer than half the votes in the area. It’s time to end the scourge of rotten boroughs in England.
But I need your help to complete the report and get it into the hands of decision makers. We want to shout our findings from the rooftops – but we need your help.
