This is the time of year when I, like many others, take a moment to slow my everyday pace and express gratitude to those who have positively impacted my life. I am truly grateful to be a part of the autism community – not just because I have an amazing adult son on the spectrum or because I am CEO of Autism Speaks, but because of all the individuals, families, supporters, volunteers and staff that I have had the opportunity to meet and learn from over the past year.
Autism Speaks engaged in hundreds of extensive conversations to ensure our work is informed by those that are meant to benefit the most. People freely shared their stories of strength and resilience, of challenge and of love. They passionately shared their belief in our vision of a world where all autistic people can reach their full potential.
I am humbled by those stories and the enduring dedication of our supporters. I am grateful to stand by your side to create a world of difference. Thank you for all that you do.
