LULAC: WE GIVE THANKS FOR THE PRIVILEGE TO SERVE
================================================

Nation's Oldest and Largest Civil Rights Organization Expresses Gratitude to Its
Members, Staff, Corporate Sponsors, and Community Allies for Uplifting the Lives
of Millions

As we gather around tables with family and friends, the League of United Latin
American Citizens (LULAC) extends its heartfelt gratitude on this Thanksgiving
Day. In a nation woven together by the threads of diversity, we reflect upon the
privilege to serve, advocate, and celebrate the strength found in our unity.

"On this Thanksgiving, LULAC is proud of its powerful and long 95-year history
defending the rights of Jose y Maria across the United States and Puerto Rico,"
says LULAC National President Domingo Garcia. "We pledge to continue defending
the rights of Latino men, women, and children who aspire to the full freedoms,
rights, and hopes of America. We will never abandon them and we thank the LULAC
family that serves them daily," he adds.

In the Northeast, LULAC has been a steadfast advocate for justice, urging an end
to the illegal profiling of Latino drivers in wealthy suburbs. Additionally, the
organization has championed the cause of housing for newly arrived refugees from
Latin America, providing sanctuary for those fleeing danger and despair.

In Florida, LULAC has led the charge against vicious attacks targeting Latino
immigrants, particularly in response to unprecedented and hateful legislation
under Governor Ron DeSantis. The organization has spoken out against attempts to
distort the telling of history involving Latinos in the United States within our
schools and universities.

In Washington State, LULAC has secured critical legal victories protecting the
right to vote for Latinos. Simultaneously, the organization has been a staunch
supporter of the aspirations of Latino youths dreaming of careers or professions
through higher learning.

In California, LULAC has raised its voice against the unfair treatment of Latino
workers, stood shoulder to shoulder with Latino professors and students in higher
education, and advocated for increased funding in our communities toward housing
and job training.

In Texas and the Southwest, LULAC has strongly denounced the folly of $5.21
billion in taxpayers' money used for Operation Lone Star along with the inhumane
treatment of refugees at the US-Mexico border, fought back against laws targeting
Latino voters, and denial of representation through unfair at-large elections.

In the Midwest, LULAC has championed the right of Latinos in middle-class
communities to be included in economic planning and programs and demanded reforms
and enforcement of stronger labor laws to prevent child labor from being used in
dangerous job sites, including meat packing plants.

Also, in Washington, DC, LULAC members descended on Capitol Hill. They stepped up
the fight, demanding fair treatment for America's deported veterans and the
repatriation of all who have been exiled.

"LULAC honors the men and women working in the fields to put the vegetables on
our Thanksgiving table," says Garcia. "So too, those who work in meatpacking
plants to bring the turkey and ham to our tables. LULAC fought to get farmworkers
better working conditions and rights; we went into the meatpacking plants to
demand and get safe COVID protection for our essential workers. To them and their
families, we say thank you!"

Happy Thanksgiving from the League of United Latin American Citizens. May the
spirit of gratitude and unity guide us as we continue our quest toward a more
just and inclusive America.
