Thanksgiving may be my favorite holiday. I love sharing a meal with
family & friends and celebrating all we have to be grateful for.

But I also like to reflect on the principles and ideals on which our
great nation was founded. Instilled in all of us and protected by our
Constitution, those very freedoms are the reason I am running for US
Senate.

It saddens me that many try to divide us instead of uniting us. So
many of us share the same unifying beliefs:

FAITH IN GOD.

FAITH IN OUR CONSTITUTION.

Those beliefs helped build this great nation. Without faith, hard
work, and a strong and loving family, I could not have achieved all I
have so far.

I am proud to be an American. The blood of my ancestors is in the
soil, and therefore I own it, just like all Americans.

As the great-granddaughter of a runaway slave, and the daughter of a
Vietnam Vet, I am living the American Dream and want to make sure my
children – and yours – get to share in that dream as well.
