Liberty and Bell are ready for their presidential pardons.

The two Thanksgiving turkeys were due at the White House on Monday to play their part in what has become an annual holiday tradition: a president sparing them from becoming someone's dinner.

"We think that's a great way to kick off the holiday season and really, really a fun honor." Steve Lykken, chairman of the National Turkey Federation and president of the Jennie-O Turkey Store, said in an interview with The Associated Press. Read more

Senate Republicans are rolling out a provocative new strategy as they try to boost the GOP's chances in Arizona next year: propping up incumbent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.

NRSC operatives have been fretting about polls that have shown Sinema, an independent, pulling in nearly twice as many Republican voters as Democrats in a three-way race. So in a bid to keep GOP voters behind the GOP nominee while splitting the Democratic vote, they're laughing a new digital ad Monday boosting Sinema's liberal bona fides while hammering Rep. Senator Joe Manchin has announced he will not seek re-election and that one of his goals is to "mobilize the middle." It is unclear how he intends to do that, but there is significant discussion about the viability of a third party in 2024.
