Aloha Members of the Hawaii Republican Party,

I hope this letter finds you in the best of spirits and health.

I am thrilled to report that our recent fundraising event with the East Hawaii County Republican Party was a success. Thanks to the exceptional efforts of Chair Mark Jones and his dedicated team, we were treated to a magnificent Turkey feast that was nothing short of fabulous.

I would also like to congratulate our newly appointed Vice Chair of Coalitions, Sheryl Bieler, and Vice Chair of Communications, Jennifer Hunt. Their commitment to our party's vision is inspiring, and I am confident they will make significant contributions to our collective goals.

A highlight of the event was the live training conducted by Teri Savaiinaea, our Vice Chair Candidate and Recruitment. We need to continue to build our grassroots, recruit top-notch candidates, and strategize for multiple victories in 2024.

As we look ahead to the Presidential race, I understand there have been queries regarding the teams chosen to represent the three Presidential Candidates —Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and Ron DeSantis. Let me clarify that the selection of these teams was solely the prerogative of the candidates and their campaign staff. AS much as we would have liked our voices to be considered, the Hawaii Republican Party did not suggest nor participate in these decisions.

Looking forward, we have a host of exciting events lined up, including our Christmas Fundraiser on December 16th. I encourage you all to mark your calendars and join us in what promises to be a festive and joyful occasion. The 5 member Republican Caucus, led by Rep Lauren Matsumoto, packed the Ballroom Wednesday night for a hugely successful campaign fundraiser. “This is the first time our caucus has teamed up for a joint fundraiser. It’s exciting to see this kind of unity”, commented Rep Matsumoto. Over 250 people gathered on Wednesday November 8, 2023 at the Okinawa Center Legacy Ballroom in Waipahu to kick off the upcoming campaign season for incumbent representatives Gene Ward, Lauren Matsumoto, Diamond Garcia, Elijah Pierick and David Alcos. Master of Ceremonies and Media Personality, Dawn O’Brien, kept the crowd laughing and Mike Cheap (father of Lauren Cheape Matsumoto) provided his musical talents on guitar. Each Representative gave remarks and shared highlights from their recent “Listening Tour” on Oahu, announcing their plan to tour the outer islands soon. The guests not only enjoyed a delicious dinner and fellowship together, they also opened their pocketbooks at the donation tables, garnering over
$50,000 in combined contributions.
