Friend,



My name is Hung Cao. As we approach this Holiday season I want to remind
everyone of what makes our country so great.



I was born in Communist Vietnam during the fall of saigon. My family knows the
importance of living in a free and safe country because we have lived in places
where our liberties were stripped from us.



Growing up Thanksgiving was a holiday that held significant importance to me
and my family. Not only was this the time of year where we would come together
and spend essential family time but, we all had an opportunity to say how
thankful we are for the country we live in and lives that being here has
provided us.



I joined the Navy for this specific reason. I saw the way people talked about
our country and knew that I had to do more to give back to our great nation.
During my time in service I came to understand what was most important about
our nation. It’s our ability to preserve through hardship and keep pushing
forward.



As your U.S. Senator from Virginia I will bring these values to DC. The career
politicians like Tim Kaine have no grasp on what it means to serve our country.
They only know how to benefit from it.
