A vehicle exploded on Wednesday at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing near Niagara Falls, prompting an investigation by the FBI into what is now considered an attempted terrorist attack. As reported by Fox News, the car, loaded with explosives, was traveling from the United States into Canada. The explosion resulted in the death of two individuals in the vehicle, while a border officer sustained injuries.
The incident is expected to have implications for the border protocols under President Biden. The FBI released a statement saying, “The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the US and Canada in Niagara Falls. The FBI is coordinating with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. As this situation is very fluid, that’s all we can say at this time.” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul commented, “At my direction, the New York State Police is actively working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York. I am traveling to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders and will update New Yorkers when more information becomes available.” Keep reading with a 7-day free trialSubscribe to PatriotNewsToday to keep reading this post and get 7 days of free access to the full post archives.
