We hope that you have a safe and restful Thanksgiving holiday with your family, friends, and loved ones. We are thankful for the incredible work CFT members do every day educating our students, supporting them and their families, and uplifting our communities.
We are also thankful for all of the CFT community – who continue to stand together as a union to defend and protect our professions, our schools, and our students. Our collective solidarity is critical in this era when extremists seek to dismantle and defund our schools, and attack the human rights of our students and our members.
The CFT acknowledges Thanksgiving as a National Day of Mourning for Native American communities across the United States. By learning about the history of this day, we remember those who were lost during the colonization of Indigenous Peoples.
