John,
I wanted to make sure you saw Deborah’s email from yesterday.
Instead of passing legislation that invests in vulnerable communities by increasing funding for WIC, expanding access to child care, and investing in energy programs so that people can heat their homes this winter, a small but vocal right-wing faction in the House is using its outsized power to demand cuts and push for inhumane immigration policies that undermine asylum laws and separate families, harming children through rapid deportation programs and mandatory detention.
This is not what the majority of Americans want. The majority of Americans want policies that protect the most marginalized, invest in vulnerable communities, and make the wealthy finally pay their fair share in taxes so that we can fund essential public programs and services.
When Congress returns next week from their Thanksgiving break, they need to get back to work immediately and pass legislation that ensures no one goes hungry or cold this winter.
Rush a donation today to fight for vulnerable communities and fight back against cruel policies that harm marginalized communities.

-- DEBORAH'S EMAIL --
John,
Congress is home for Thanksgiving, but as soon as they return to Washington, D.C. next week, they must act and make critical investments in our communities, or vulnerable people will suffer this winter.
While we’re demanding immediate investments in nutrition, child care, and home heating assistance, we’re also fighting back against a small group of right-wing extremists who want to force harsh policies that criminalize immigrants and other vulnerable people.
Support our fight for investments in critical human needs programs, and fight back against attacks on low-income and vulnerable communities with a donation of $5 today.

If Congress doesn’t act, up to 600,000 women, infants, and children could lose out on essential nutrition during critical developmental stages; 3.2 million children could lose child care; and up to 1.5 million households could lose help paying for heat this winter.1,2,3
And it’s not just funding shortages we’re fighting against.
Right-wing extremists want to continue the inhumane immigration policies of the previous administration and push for even more immigration policies that undermine asylum laws, attack civil rights and fair housing laws, undo significant progress on addressing climate change, and even stop research on gun violence prevention.
By packing these “poison pill riders” into must-pass bills, right-wing extremists have turned routine legislation into a nightmare.
Our coalition is standing strong against these attacks on vulnerable communities, but we need your support. Chip in $5 today to fund this critical work.
