This Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for all that we have — in particular the embrace of our family members. As we look around our tables, our hearts break for the many Israeli families who will never again have a full holiday table.
Indeed, we each have a new perspective on the world around us, defined by pre-October 7 and post.
In the weeks since, we have come together as a pro-Israel community, both to grieve and to reaffirm our collective strength. I want to thank you and your family for your enduring support and commitment to AIPAC and our shared mission.
Since October 7, our AIPAC family — now 3.5 million members strong — has demonstrated our passion for securing the U.S.-Israel relationship. Our activism has generated millions of calls and emails into Hill offices, and last week’s March for Israel with 290,000 Americans sent a clear message to our elected leaders about the conviction of our community.
We know the coming months and years will require greater strength than ever before.
Together, we are going to need an even deeper commitment to our mission, increased political resources to support our friends and defeat our detractors, and more activism to advance pro-Israel policies on Capitol Hill.
The four-day pause in fighting announced yesterday will give Israeli families some comfort as loved ones return home, but hundreds of families are still incomplete. We will not yield in our demands that every kidnapped person be freed. They must be released and returned home.
After this pause, the fighting will continue as Israel pursues its three objectives: freeing the hostages, destroying Hamas’ terror capabilities, and driving Hamas from power.
This is a battle for the future of Israel and its ability to protect its families. We must ensure America gives our ally the resources, support, and time it needs to win.
It is our responsibility to ensure America stands with Israel, and we will never relent.
I want to thank you for being part of our AIPAC family, of all we have achieved together, and of all we will continue to achieve in the months and years ahead.
I encourage you to share this message with your friends and family as you gather tomorrow.
Now is the time to bring more people into our work. We are strong, but we must grow stronger.
May God protect the people of Israel and safeguard the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces who are spending this Thanksgiving deployed to the waters and bases of the Middle East to help strengthen Israel and deter our enemies.
Always,
Adam Harris
