This email is to notify you that Raise the Wage Renton has been officially certified by King County Elections in time for the February 2024 Special Election! If you are a Renton resident, worker, or support this initiative, please contact your Renton City Councilmembers at bit.ly/YESonRTWR and sign this letter today! And mark your calendars for the Monday, December 4th Council meeting, RSVP to speak and let's make sure to pack the Council chambers! Together with progressive community leaders and elected officials including: Senator Bob Hasegawa, Washington State Senate Secretary-Treasurer Katie Garrow, MLK Labor Council Councilmember Girmay Zahilay, King County Council Chair Jasmine Ines, 11th Legislative District Democrats General Secretary Katie WIlson, Transit Riders' Union President Julianna Dauble, Renton Education Association President Johnny Dwyer, WFSE Local 304 ? We have drafted this Joint Letter urging Renton City Council to pass the proposed ordinance, without alteration, within 20 days of certification of this petition as established in RCW?35.17.260. Renton City Council will hold a Council meeting on Monday, December 4th, at 7:00PM to adopt the resolution at Renton City Hall. ? Thank you for your continued support on this important issue that will impact nearly 60,000 employed workers in Renton, and continue to set the standard for the region. Renton City Council has an important decision to make that will help shape the future of our local economy and conditions of our workforce and families.
