Another election season has drawn to a close and now, the weather reminds us that winter is coming and with it a new year — we reflect, take a deep breath, and turn to the people around us in gratitude. Personally and on behalf of New Politics, I am so thankful to have a deep community of supporters like you who continue to show up — for change, for one another, and for our democracy. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 13 years in politics, it’s that the most predictable thing about it is its unpredictability – and 2023 has been no different: from the chaos over leadership in Congress, blatant corruption turmoil abroad to certain lawmakers blocking the appointment of military leadership threatening our security and democracy at home and around the world. The stakes get higher by the day.
In all the disorder and difficulty, one thing is very clear: our mission, and the work we do at New Politics to recruit, support, and empower transformative leaders, has never been more important.
Now as we approach 2024, reflecting on our successes and laying the groundwork for the next chapter, we’re taking a moment to keep in mind what brought us all here together: the desire to make our democracy stronger, more representative of our people, and more effective for the generations who will walk behind us.
Our shared passion for this mission, and the public servants who lead the way, give me hope for our future and leave me feeling deeply thankful this Thanksgiving. We’re so glad you’re here and hope you’ll stick with us as we build for things to come. Be sure to follow us to stay up-to-date on all we have in store.
Thank you, and have a restful holiday!
