Dear John,
The coronavirus outbreak has ground the globe to a halt. Italy has banned public gatherings in the entire country and restricted travel to only work or family emergencies. Israel has required a 14-day quarantine for anyone entering the country. The Dow dropped more than 2,000 points yesterday, its worst day since 2008.
How has our commander-in-chief responded to the global crisis? Let’s recap:
- He called Washington state Governor Jay Inslee, who is dealing with the worst outbreak in the country, a “snake”
- He admitted that he wanted to keep cruise ship passengers, who tested positive for the virus, left aboard the ship because he didn’t “need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn’t our fault”
- He spent the weekend at his properties in Florida, golfing at Mar-a-Lago while the number of cases more than doubled
- He accused the “Fake News Media” of overblowing the severity of the outbreak and trying to incite a panic
But even with this botched response to a global pandemic and an economy in free-fall, we’re still up against a full-fledged attack on our democratic institutions that very well might hand Trump a win in November.
Our latest video breaks down what we’re up against in our fight to make Donald Trump a one-term president.

Does Donald Trump have a higher chance of reelection than we thought?

The only way to overcome the voter suppression and big money forces working in Trump’s favor is by building a multiracial, multi-class coalition.
That way enough voters will be inspired to show up to the polls and stop Trump’s authoritarian machine for good.
We have no time to waste.
Thanks for watching,
Robert Reich
P.S. I went live this morning to discuss the oncoming recession, Trump's botched response to the coronavirus outbreak, and how the working class and poor will be hit hardest. Tune in here.
