John,
The chancellor's autumn statement was another failed opportunity to end the cost-of-living crisis, tackle the climate crisis and restore our crumbling public services.
Whilst the Conservatives talk about cracking down on benefit claims and rewarding the richest who are responsible for the majority of carbon emissions, we know that we must end the inequality crisis to save the planet.
As part of our alternative 10-point plan, we would:
✅Rebalance the tax system to raise an extra £30 billion through changes to Capital Gains Tax, National Insurance and the abolition of “non dom status” which would pay for the proposed measures
✅Immediately increase NHS spending by £8 billion, to ensure NHS staff can be paid an inflation matching pay award
✅End the rise in homelessness caused by the cap on Local Housing Allowances at a cost of £700 million
John, we know there is enough money in our economy to remove the fundamental injustice in our society.
We can afford better public services, to protect the environment and the most vulnerable in society, to keep people warm and to lift people out of poverty.
But, only the Green Party has the political will to deal with the crises we face.
That is why we desperately need more Greens in parliament who would rebalance the tax system so that the super-rich pay their fair share, invest in preventative public health services, support those in need, and boost the transition to a greener economy and all the benefits that will bring.
Help us get more Green MPs elected by becoming a Green Friend. Are you with us, John?
