Dear Friend,
My name is Negin, and I’m a lesbian refugee from Afghanistan.
Today, I’m inviting you to join my Giving Tuesday campaign to raise $10,000 for Immigration Equality.
They found me safe passage to Canada after I fled the Taliban and secured resettlement for dozens more LGBTQ Afghan refugees in danger.
Kickstart my campaign with a gift—and it will be doubled through a $10,000 match! Your donation will go twice as far toward supporting queer refugees like me.
I’m also sharing my to inspire support for Immigration Equality’s life-saving work.
Friend—Two years ago, the Taliban tried to force me to marry a man. They came into my home and brutally attacked my father. Before they could find me, I escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house.
Terrified, I got the little money I had, I hid myself in a burka, and fled to Pakistan with my sister. There, I struggled to survive without enough food or clothing. I worked every day to find a path to safety.
I became very depressed, and I felt hopeless—until I received an email from Immigration Equality saying they would help me apply for refugee resettlement in Canada.
This gave me new hope and the energy to keep going.
With their guidance every step of the way, I was able to leave Pakistan and move to Canada to build the future of my dreams.
I am so grateful to Immigration Equality, but there are so many more like me who need their help.
Will you support them by joining my Giving Tuesday campaign to raise $10,000? Your donation will be DOUBLED thanks to a generous match!
Thank you for your support,
Negin
