john — The United States Congress is meant to be a deliberative legislative body, which is a fancy way of saying a group of people who do the important work of passing laws that help the American people.

But last week, Republicans in Congress turned Capitol Hill into a high school cafeteria. Before I get into the specifics, will you chip in to my work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot so we can restore some decency and order to Congress once more? [[link removed]]

Last Tuesday, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy elbowed one of his Republican colleagues who voted to remove him as speaker. The two got into a spat, chasing each other down the halls of Congress. Yikes.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer, unleashed childish insults against a Democratic member of the committee. Yikes.

And in the Senate, Republican Markwayne Mullin nearly got into a brawl with a witness at a committee hearing! Major yikes.

john, what a week it was in Congress. My takeaway from this? We need to elect more women and more Democrats. Seriously!

If you’re tired of the insults, elbows, and brawls in Congress and are ready to see some real legislation and progress made, please chip in to my work to flip the House, hold the Senate, and elect Democrats nationwide! [[link removed]]

Thank you — hopefully, Republicans settle down after the Thanksgiving recess (though I’m not holding my breath)!
