This Thanksgiving, as we gather around the table with friends and family, Israel will undoubtedly be in the heart and mind of every pro-Israel American.
While many of us still carry the weight of October 7 on our shoulders, and the enduring pain of so many lives lost and of hostages still in Hamas captivity, it is important to remember there are things we can be thankful for.
We can be thankful that 50 women and children kidnapped by Hamas will hopefully soon be released by their captors and returned home to their families in Israel.
We can be thankful that Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow are now operating simultaneously for the first time, saving countless Israeli lives and underscoring the importance of our work to secure funding for these systems.
We can be thankful for the overwhelming show of support for Israel from our leaders in Washington and for the commitment from President Biden and a near-unanimous Congress to stand by the Jewish state for as long as it takes to defeat Hamas.
Finally, while there remain many challenging days, weeks and months ahead, we can be thankful that our pro-Israel community is strong. We are resolute. And we are more determined than ever to ensure Israel will win this war.
As you enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend, I hope you will take a moment to join AIPAC and help us continue our important work.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
