As Governor, there is nothing more important to me than defending the rights and freedoms of North Carolinians.

I’ve used every power at my disposal to stand up for those fundamental rights, but it’s not always enough. The GOP’s recent one-seat supermajority has allowed them to pass restrictions on abortion access and voting rights that are simply anti-democratic.

They don’t reflect the will of North Carolinians. They are not in the best interests of our state. They’re only in the interests of GOP legislators intent on holding onto power.

My commitment to our democracy means speaking out and fighting back when it’s attacked. I always will. And I’ll do everything possible to BREAK the GOP supermajorities in 2024 so that far-right politicians can’t cause further harm to our state.
