On Friday, we got a ruling in our Colorado case seeking to bar Donald Trump from the ballot. The judge ruled that Trump incited and engaged in insurrection, but stopped short of barring him from the ballot under the 14th Amendment, over the technicality of whether the president is an “officer” of the United States.

That’s the first time—ever—that a judge has ruled that a sitting president engaged in insurrection. That’s a huge win, but now we have to finish the job and take our argument to the Colorado Supreme Court that Trump must therefore be barred from the ballot.

This was never going to be an easy fight. Trump made clear from the beginning that he was going to use every tool at his disposal—including threats against CREW—to keep us from winning this case. Just yesterday, he appealed the judge’s ruling on 11 grounds, including that he incited the insurrection. That proves that this decision was a victory for our team that got under his skin.

We’re proud of the case we made in court and stand by everything we said and every piece of (extensive) evidence we provided.

That’s why we’ve appealed this ruling to the Colorado Supreme Court.

So now, we’re coming to you for help: We need the resources to finish this legal battle.
