John --

It's no secret that last year was hot.

But what you may not know is that 2019 was the hottest year on record in Alaska -- where temperatures rose significantly more than they did in the lower 48.

Here are some communities' average temperatures (in Fahrenheit) compared to 2018:

  • Kotzebue: 9.1° above normal
  • Bethel: 6.2° above normal
  • Fairbanks: 5.4° above normal
  • Anchorage: 5.5° above normal

In addition to these four communities, Utqiaġvik, King Salmon, Northway, McGrath, Kodiak, and Cold Bay also had their warmest years on record.

As temperatures climb, glaciers melt, and climate change ravages our state, it's more apparent than ever that we need a senator who will fight for smart and commonsense environmental legislation -- before it's too late.

Dan Sullivan seems content to watch our state fall victim to climate change -- his inaction puts us at risk. We need to act now, while we still can. Sign the petition today and demand the Senate take action and address climate change.

Dan refuses to admit that climate change is caused by humans and has stated that there is "no scientific consensus" on the cause.

Well, scientists have disagreed with Dan -- and our skyrocketing temperatures prove it.

Despite what Dan thinks, we have the power to make change and slow the devastating effects of this climate crisis.

He might not be willing to fight for our planet and our state, so we need to step up and make sure we are heard. If you're in this fight with us, add your name today.

Thank you,
