John,
Bad actors in right-wing media are using the tragic war in the Middle East as an opportunity to spread hate and division.
First, it was Jesse Watters saying he's "had it" with Muslims and Arab-Americans.
Then, it was Tucker Carlson accusing Jewish donors of funding calls for "white genocide" on college campuses, doubling down on his longtime obsession with the white nationalist “great replacement” theory.
Now, Elon Musk is amplifying anti-Semitic white nationalist posts on his "X" account, prompting advertisers to leave the platform in droves.
For far too long, right-wing media has used hate and rage to drive profits and ratings. The more sensationalist, outrageous, and vitriolic their content is, the higher the ratings, clicks, and views. For too long, there has been a perverse profit incentive to continue spreading this hate.
We founded Courier Newsroom to create a meaningful alternative to this hate. Our journalists report on real issues that impact people's lives. We are committed to the truth and refuse to use our platform to spread hate and division.
Our mission is to strengthen our democracy and communities, not tear them apart. Profits don’t define us because we count on supporters like you to help us continue doing this vital work.
We’re working to build a revolutionary alternative built on principles, ethics, and, above all else, the truth. So far, we have newsrooms in nine states, and we need your help to keep growing.
Thanks for your support,
The Courier Newsroom Team
