New solicitations
DES starts solicitation to replace travel contract
DES is starting a solicitation for agent-assisted travel services, contract 23923. We expect to award the contract in Spring 2024.
The new contract will succeed statewide contract 02219 for travel services, which expires Nov. 30.
In the interim, purchasers can use NASPO Travel Management Services contract 28623 until the new statewide contract is available.

New statewide contracts
New statewide contract available for medical personal protective equipment
DES has a new statewide contract 12722 for medical personal protective equipment (PPE).
This contract includes medical gloves, N95 masks, powered air purifying respirators (PAPR), face shields and goggles, hair covers, and more. Several contracts are available now; contracts with other vendors are still being negotiated and finalized.
Washington state vendors on this contract include Washington small businesses:
- Bellwether Enterprises, LLC, a certified veteran-owned business focused on the sale of gloves.
- Excel Gloves and Safety Supplies, Inc., an OMWBE-certified business focused on the sale of gloves and N95 masks.
- Rainier American Mask Co., LLC, a manufacturer focused on the sale of disposable masks.

Learn best practices from other procurement professionals
The Supplier Diversity Community of Practice (SDCP) is a forum for procurement professionals to connect and share how they are promoting supplier diversity best practices in their organizations while implementing the enterprise supplier diversity policy.
Anyone whose job includes procuring goods and services for a public organization is welcome. That includes state government, cities, counties, higher education, K-12 education, Tribal governments and any other public entities.
Participants participate in focused conversations around supplier diversity strategies and share challenges and opportunities with colleagues.
The Supplier Diversity Community of Practice meets the third Thursday of every month from 1 - 2:30 p.m.
