The last several weeks have been busy in Washington, but I'm glad to be back home to continue to work for our communities. Last week, House Democrats delivered the votes to avert a government shutdown for the second time this year. Thankfully, this means that government support and services will be available for our communities through the holidays.

Sign Up for Health Insurance Today! 

The annual Open Enrollment period for health insurance is open NOW and runs through January 31, 2024. This is an chance to change your health insurance plan or enroll for the first time.  There are a wide variety of plans, including some with financial assistance, so you and your family can be prepared for any health emergencies.

Want to Change your Medicare Plan? You Have Until December 7th. 

In addition to health insurance, the Open Enrollment period for Medicare beneficiares runs from October 15 to December 7.

 

If you haven't already, now is the time to review your plan to ensure it provides the best care and value. You have the option to switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans, or adjust your prescription drug coverage.

PACT Act Benefits for Veterans Still Available! 

Last year, House Democrats passed, and President Biden signed, the PACT Act into law.  This landmark bill significantly enhanced benefits and simplified access to health care and disability benefits for Veterans exposed to toxic burn pits.

 

To date, the VA has processed almost 500,000 claims and delivered more than $1.8 billion in earned benefits to Veterans and their survivors.
