This is nothing but a distraction by the MAGA wing of the Republican Party aiming to rewrite history. Right wing talking heads are already selectively editing this footage and trying to act like an insurrection never happened. 

But this isn’t surprising, John: these are the same folks who called Jan. 6 “a normal tourist visit” and a group of “patriots.”

Here’s what Jan. 6 was: an insurrection incited by Donald Trump designed to overturn the election. Plain and simple.

Right now, our BEST line of defense against extremist Republicans who are hellbent on destroying our democracy is strong, Democratic Secretaries of State who will stand up for the will of the voters.
