Journalists and MPs of all parties are clear: Jeremy Hunt has just fired the
starting gun for a Spring General Election.

The Autumn Statement today is a work of deception, with stealth taxes that
will, in truth, hit people hard. They are cutting NHS spending at the same time.

Hunt has spent every penny he can on a small tax cut that will come into
people's pay packets early next year.

Governments often make this kind of change just ahead of a General Election
campaign.
