Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. SUCCESSFUL VET FEST BRINGS RESOURCES DIRECTLY TO OUR NATION'S HEROES
Last Saturday, we hosted our first annual Vet Fest and it was a success! Thank you to Riverside Recovery of Tampa, Osteon Injury Center, Peace River Center, CareerSource Polk, SVdP CARES, Polk County Indigent Health Care, Citrus Connection, OneBlood, Flight to Honor, James A. Haley VA Hospital, Polk County Veteran Services and Lakeland Vet Center for being on hand to provide assistance to our nation's heroes.
UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO ISRAEL
Last week, the House Foreign Affairs Committee provided Members of Congress a viewing of unedited footage of the horrific October 7th Hamas attack on Israel. We saw Hamas terrorists take pride in slaughtering innocent people, killing 1,200 people and taking 240 others hostage. We must be steadfast in our resolve to eradicate them. There is no negotiating or any prospect for lasting peace with avowed terrorists whose stated goal is the annihilation of Israel. That is why I voted for H.R. 6126, the "Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act," to provide $14.5 billion in assistance to Israel and fully support Israel's right to defend itself. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I also helped secure $3.3 billion for the Israel Foreign Military Financing Program in the State, Foreign Operations appropriations bill to provide unwavering support for their critical defense systems. Israel MUST be able to defend itself!
CONSTITUENT CORNER
Helping veterans or their families is an important way our office serves our community. Ray Dobles reached out for help replacing WWII medals his father lost. We successfully connected with the VA and Ray can now formally commemorate his father's heroic legacy. If you need assistance getting in touch with the VA or another federal agency, click here to submit your request or call (863) 644-8215.
