Dear Friend,
This Thanksgiving holiday, I want to thank USCRI’s advocates and donors like you whose generous time and support enables us to transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable.
Since USCRI’s founding over a century ago, we have kept the promise of serving and dignifying refugees and immigrants, and we continue to be the unbreakable bridge to the ideals and promise of America.
During the darkest days of COVID and after, we have met every challenge head-on and succeeded in supporting the needs of over 120,000 people, including refugees, victims of human trafficking, unaccompanied children, youth in El Salvador and Honduras, and migrants in Mexico.
This past year, with your support, we have:
Resettled over 7,500 refugees and 1,500 Special Immigrant Visa holders
Provided services to 18,726 unaccompanied children at the border
Provided trafficking victim assistance to over 450 child survivors of trafficking and over 1,100 adult survivors
Sheltered and attended to the unique needs of 902 unaccompanied girls from 19 different countries
As we gather around the table this Thursday with family and friends to express our gratitude, let us be mindful of the millions of children and families who remain languishing in refugee camps, and survivors of torture and genocide all over the world who are longing for freedom and a safe place to call home.
But with your ongoing commitment, we can continue to help many more refugees and immigrants fulfill their dreams for a better tomorrow.
Thank you for welcoming and comforting the world’s most vulnerable, and I wish you and your family a very warm and happy Thanksgiving holiday.
With much appreciation,
Eskinder Negash
