Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving dates back to 1621 when Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians held a holiday feast. It become an official holiday in 1863 under President Lincoln.

This Thanksgiving, I encourage you to reflect and give thanks for all of your blessings. Happy Thanksgiving and God bless!

Bidenomics = Bidenflation

The bad news this Thanksgiving is your Thanksgiving meal, groceries, and everyday necessities cost more because of Joe Biden's failed policies. Since Joe Biden took office, prices have jumped 17.1%. When Trump left office, inflation was only at 1.4%.

Transparency for J6 Defendants

Speaker Johnson is delivering transparency to the American people by releasing the January 6 tapes. Americans should be able to see the evidence, or lack thereof, for themselves and make their own conclusions.

Speaker Mike Johnson kept his word and released the surveillance tapes. This is the type of transparency that we need in Washington!

Stop Teaching Antisemitism in the Merchant Marine Academy

Dr. Hesham Shaalan posted on X, formerly Twitter, on October 29 an image that portrayed every news outlet as controlled by Israel. What’s more disturbing than Dr. Shaalan’s antisemitism is the fact that he is a professor at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

I refuse to let our Merchant Marines be indoctrinated by antisemitic professors. I joined Rep. Fry and 10 of my colleagues to demand answers from the Academy about their hate speech policies for employees.

Stop the Illegal Alien Invasion

In May, House Republicans passed the strongest border security bill to come to the House floor in decades.

Instead of taking up and debating a bill that would stop the invasion at our southern border, safeguard our nation, end catch and release, close asylum loopholes, and much more, the Senate prolongs the invasion by starting over on immigration legislation.

The Senate needs to grow a spine and bring HR 2 to the floor! See the differences between HR 2 and the Senate proposal here.

Serving You

This year, our office has helped over 300 constituents resolve issues with their passport. We’ve helped everyone from a parent traveling to a child’s wedding to a professional basketball player getting overseas for a big game.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.Res. 877, Rep. Collins’ bill to condemn the failure of the Washington DC government to combat the crime wave plaguing the city.

In the District

Oconee Deputy Lucas Watts was shot in the line of duty on November 16. Sheriff Crenshaw recently shared an update on the miracle of Deputy Watts surviving the shooting and surgery. Though he is still in a critical condition and has a long road ahead of him, I'm keeping Deputy Watts and his family in my prayers. See Sheriff Crenshaw's update here.

Suzy Shaw created an All Stars Program at Emerald City Dance Explosion to let those with special needs experience the joy of dance. The program not only provides fun and teaches new skills, but it also helps individuals with special needs to learn how to socialize, overcome anxiety, and much more. Great work Suzy!

Sage Automotive Interiors announced a $10.45 million investment to expand their Sharon plant in Abbeville, South Carolina. Sage is a global supplier of automotive interiors for the worlds most well known automotive manufacturers. The expansion will bring nearly 100 new jobs to Abbeville.
