Ken Paxton announces investigation of media group following Elon Musk’s lawsuit
After the nonprofit media watchdog, Media Matters, caught the cesspool of bigotry (formerly known as Twitter) pairing corporate ads with neo-nazi content, advertisers fled the platform, so Musk sued for defamation. The problem is, it's not defamation it it's true. So the tech bozo convinced notoriously corrupt Republican Texas Attorney General to investigate. Presumably, Elon offered an opportunity to obscure the truth and skirt the law to prop up billionaire bigotry, and Paxton shouted "pick me" before the Twitter wrecker could even finish his sieg heil.

Israel and Hamas agree to Biden brokered deal to free dozens of hostages, pause fighting, deliver aid
President Biden, with Qatari and Egyptian leaders, has brokered a deal to pause for four days the fighting between Israel and Hamas, free at least 50 women and children taken hostage from Israel during the Hamas terror attack of Oct. 7, release 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, bring hundreds of trucks of desperately needed aid into Gaza, and get medical attention to all remaining hostages. The ceasefire is finite, and we are far from resolution, but many lives will be saved, innocents will be freed, and we should all be grateful to finally have some very good news from a region of heartbreak.

Democratic attorney generals defend our rights against anti-abortion extremists
Democratic Attorney Generals Association: When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Dem AGs jumped into action to block abortion ban, and when a Trump-appointed judge tried to pull the abortion pill off the shelves, it was Dem AGs who sued and won. There are 10 attorney general seats on the ballot in 2024; will you chip in to help elect Democratic AGs who will protect our right to choose?
California’s DOJ investigating after an officer opened fire and killed a pedestrian in middle of a freeway
A state officer is now under investigation after a video went viral of him repeatedly firing his gun into a pedestrian on the middle of a Southern California freeway. Since the video went viral, police say that the officer was entitled to use deadly force as the pedestrian activated a taser against the officer — circumstances absent from the initial report. Seems a pretty relevant detail to omit.

Trump critics appeal Colorado ruling that said "insurrectionist ban" doesn’t apply to presidents
The battle to ban the treasonous former president from political office is not yet over despite a judge's nonsensical ruling that while he did engage in insurrection, the 14th Amendment does not apply to presidents. The watchdog CREW has appealed the ruling and it now looks like it could go all the way to the Supreme Court.

Crypto giant Binance admits to money laundering and agrees to pay $4.3bn
Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, agreed to resign from the company, pleaded guilty to money laundering, will pay a $50m fine, and be barred from any involvement in the business. Binance too agreed to plead guilty, accept the appointment of a monitor and pay a criminal fine of nearly $1.81bn as well as a $2.51bn order of forfeiture to settle three criminal charges. The US Justice Department had charged the company with conducting an unlicensed money transmitting business, a conspiracy charge and violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. More and more it seems that crypto is at the very least, a convenient vehicle for criminal fraudsters hiding beneath a Silicon Valley sheen.

Judge to weigh revoking Trump co-defendant Harrison Floyd's bond over social media posts
A judge ordered the bond conditions of Harrison Floyd, one of the disgraced, repeatedly indicted former president's harebrained minions in the Georgia election interference case, to be modified because of unhinged social media posts that prosecutors from the Fulton County district attorney’s office said were “intentional and flagrant violations” of the conditions of his release. In other words, it looks like he was taking after his internet troll mentor.

Ron DeSantis’ super PAC leaders "nearly came to blows" in meeting
A meeting among members of Never Back Down, the super PAC backing DeSantis’ all-but-completely-failed presidential campaign, descended into chaos last week as leaders fumed over who was to blame for his atrocious polling performance. Jeff Roe and Scott Wagner, two of the super PACs leaders, nearly came to blows over their disagreements. “You have a stick up your ass, Scott,” Roe told Wagner. “Why don’t you come over here and get it?” Wagner said in response, having to be restrained by fellow board members as he rose from his chair. As of this writing, there is no word on if Wagner managed to retrieve the stick from Roe's ass.
Former White House official caught on camera carrying out horrific racist harassment
Stuart Seldowitz, who worked on the National Security Council South Asia Directorate under Obama, was seen on video accusing a New York City food truck vendor of being a “terrorist," repeatedly attacking the Islamic faith, and lobbing racist remark after racist remark for no apparent reason beyond his own frothing bigotry.
