Today’s the kickoff of our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need your support.
Day in and day out, The Hechinger Report creates a body of work and public understanding about education issues that may seem complicated or intractable. We point out the faults in our myriad systems and we also spotlight solutions that might lead to successful student outcomes. We do this through our deeply-reported stories, our columns that explain tricky subjects and highlight emerging technologies, and by elevating voices in our op-eds of those who are often unheard or discounted.
As a nonprofit newsroom, we believe everyone should have access to the information that affects their community, which is why we make all of our reporting free — no paywall, no subscriptions. In turn, we ask readers to voluntarily support our work through member donations.
Starting now — through December 31 — a community funder will match the first $20,000 in donations, up to $1,000.
