ConocoPhillips plans to begin construction this winter.

Dear Friend,

Earlier this month, a federal district court in Alaska declined to halt the Willow project, siding with ConocoPhillips and the Biden administration in our lawsuit against the massive oil drilling endeavor in the Western Arctic Reserve.

Earthjustice just appealed the court’s decision and filed a motion for an injunction, escalating this case to a higher court while asking the court to halt Willow's operations while our appeal is decided. We will fight Willow and ask the court to send the project back to the drawing board, but the saga highlights the need for smarter climate policies that would have prevented the project from advancing as far as it has.

Fortunately, there’s an active comment period where the Bureau of Land Management is soliciting input on stronger protections for the Western Arctic Reserve. The deadline is in a couple weeks, and we need your help to make it clear to the Biden administration that our public lands should not exacerbate the climate crisis. Tell the Bureau of Land Management to adopt policies that would prevent the next Willow project.

TAKE ACTION: [link removed]

Sincerely,
Jeremy Lieb
