Apple Inc. is facing charges from the federal labor board after it excluded unionized retail workers from a benefits boost last year. A National Labor Relations Board regional director lodged a complaint Tuesday based on charges that the tech giant violated federal labor laws by refusing to give unionized workers at an Apple store in Towson, Md., enhanced benefits in 2022. UMD employees bargain alongside AFSCME for higher wages

AFSCME Maryland Council 3 had two more bargaining sessions with the University System of Maryland this week.
"We're bargaining our first consolidated contract for the entire system," AFSCME said in a social media post, "and even our member's pups are wearing green to show support!"

"Nobody gets a raise here," Ty Hilliard, a maintenance worker said to The Diamondback about working conditions at UMD. "The wages for the standard employee is definitely not livable wages. Most people have to work two jobs or three jobs or do something on the side just to make ends meet."
