Dear John,
As we all prepare to gather with family and loved ones this week, our hearts are heavy for those at home and around the globe who are enduring various crises. And yet, because of the hope we have in Christ, we can be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thess. 5:18). It is this counterintuitive gratitude that sets believers apart to be a light in dark times.
I am especially thankful for the faithfulness of thousands of partners like you across the nation. Because of your support, Family Research Council has been advancing faith, family, and freedom in public policy and the culture from a biblical worldview for 40 years.
Thank you!
Keenly aware that we face difficult challenges ahead we are taking committed, concerted efforts to turn the tide.
You see, biblical literacy is at an all-time low, even among professing Christians.
A survey conducted by FRC's Center for Biblical Worldview (CBW) earlier this year shines a light on the beliefs of churchgoing Americans. Although 43% claim to have a biblical worldview, extensive research indicates that only 6% of the adult population actually has one.
We can't defend here in Washington, D.C., what we don't have in our homes and churches. If we want to see America turn to God, Christians must align themselves with the mind and ways of Christ by studying the Bible and living out its truths.
In short, we must raise up spiritual champions!
FRC has the plan, the tools, and the strategy to reach a national audience, but we need your support to reach and embolden the church to stand for biblical truth.
Will you partner with FRC in this important mission to equip Christians to live out and defend their faith in their families, communities, and the public square?
Next Tuesday is known as #GivingTuesday -- a day set aside internationally to begin the holiday season by giving back to nonprofits you believe in.
FRC's #GivingTuesday is kicking off early with the opportunity to make 2X the impact, thanks to a $150,000 Challenge Match put forward by generous friends. So, you don't have to wait until next week to double the value and reach of your gift.
And if you choose to join FRC as a STAND member for just $20 a month before midnight Tuesday, November 28, you'll receive a free copy of Dr. George Barna's newest book, Raising Spiritual Champions: Nurturing Your Child's Heart, Mind and Soul.
Becoming a STAND member is easy and convenient -- but makes a lasting impact!
As a STAND member, you'll be helping put resources into the hands of pastors and parents, educating hundreds of Americans through social media on the Left's dangerous agenda, and rallying thousands of believers to stand with Christians when they come under fire for their faith.
No matter how you choose to give, your partnership is vitally needed as we look at the world our children are growing up in.
As FRC's Senior Research Fellow for the Center for Biblical Worldview, Barna often shares how a child's worldview is to a large degree determined by the age of 13 -- their core beliefs, morals, values, desires, and lifestyle.
In Raising Spiritual Champions, he carefully blends Scripture and sociological insights to reveal how parents can lead their children to:
- Establish their God-given identity
- Develop appropriate life priorities
- Grasp the source and significance of truth
- Embrace an eternal perspective
- Properly define life success
- Find compelling meaning and purpose
John, transforming America requires a spiritual solution.
Christians must be rooted in the truth of God's Word and be prepared to articulate that truth in a winsome manner.
That's why FRC has developed an effective multi-pronged approach to equip the church and teach Christians to see all of life through the lens of Scripture.
We aim to reverse the trend of biblical illiteracy through our Center for Biblical Worldview resources designed to train Christians to grow and strengthen their biblical worldview and through our daily Stand on the Word two-year Bible reading plan.
The task before us may seem daunting. But we have truth on our side.
For many of us, the holiday season reminds us of the generational impact of our families. Over this Thanksgiving weekend, I hope you will set aside a few minutes to watch and share Dr. Barna's remarks at FRC's Pray Vote Stand Summit. I can't think of anything more important in this time than discipling confident, courageous, followers of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for being a part of the faithful remnant standing on behalf of our nation and the next generation. May God bless you and your family this Thanksgiving week. And may we see Him multiply our combined efforts to turn America back to Him.
