Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Friend,

I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well! Last week, the House came together in a bipartisan fashion to keep the government funded through the new year. House Republicans look forward to coming back after the Thanksgiving holiday to work on passing the remaining appropriations bills – and prioritizing our most pressing issues like border security.

As we head into Thanksgiving, I’m truly thankful for all of the brave men and women who have served and are currently serving our nation in the Armed Forces, the wonderful local leaders, police officers, fire officials, healthcare workers, small business owners, and everyone who works tirelessly to make our community better for our families, friends, and neighbors.

I’m beyond grateful to be your voice in Congress; it’s the honor of a lifetime. I hope you and your family have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Letter to United States Trade Representative

Last week, I joined Representative Darin LaHood’s letter calling on Ambassador Katherine Tai – the United States Trade Representative (USTR) – to reconsider the decision to abandon bipartisan digital trade proposals at the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Digital trade is vital to American workers and businesses of all sizes in virtually every industry. Global digital trade policies unfairly target American businesses, which is why it is imperative we remain the leader in shaping digital trade rules. The recent actions taken by Ambassador Tai hurts American competitiveness and cedes more leverage to the Chinese Communist Party. Putting Americans first must always be the top priority.

Creative Rights Caucus

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at a Creative Rights Caucus event. As co-chair of the caucus, I am proud of the work we do to promote the creative industries. Georgia’s creative industries – many of which call the Third District home – have contributed greatly to our state’s thriving economy.

Last Wednesday, I met with representatives from Ardelyx – a company working to use innovative technologies to address significant unmet medical needs and improve patient outcomes. I always enjoy getting to hear about new technologies in the healthcare space.
