Despite attempts by extreme House Republicans to shut down our government, Congress passed a stopgap spending bill to keep the federal government funded through the New Year.
This was made possible because Democrats in the House once again stepped up to be the adults in the room and managed to find common ground with enough reasonable Republicans who were willing to put the needs of our country before politics.
Thanks to Democratic leadership, millions of dollars in funding will continue to flow to our most vital federal programs, including support for veterans, home heating assistance, and more. On top of that, there will be NO spending cuts to vital services that the far-right were pushing for.
The thing is, team, preventing cuts isn’t enough. We need to be expanding funding for the programs that working families depend on, and that won’t happen with a GOP speaker in control of the House. We MUST take back the House next year. Will you chip in to keep this district blue and help Democrats flip the House in 2024? [[link removed]]
