Friend,
I love having the opportunity to introduce YOU—a steadfast supporter of ours—to our Global Partners, especially in the midst of our $250,000 Global Partners Matching Gift Campaign!
Global Partners complement our population education and reproductive health and rights advocacy—the work Population Connection does every day! As we seek to get the word out in the U.S. that global population growth threatens our planet, our Global Partners offer direct services to their communities. Their programs—ranging from girls’ education, to integrated public health and conservation, to reproductive health care and family planning provision—round out our own education and advocacy efforts, creating a tangible impact on local communities in the developing world.
Thanks to your support of Population Connection's mission, we can have a greater shared impact on programs that will reduce fertility rates around the world and end rapid population growth, fostering a better future for us all. Thank you!
Seeds for a Future, one of our newest Global Partners, helps families in rural Guatemala with improved nutrition, food security, household hygiene, and income. They supply families with the information, mentoring, and start-up materials needed to grow sustainable gardens and raise small animals for protein. They also provide family health education for mothers, infants, and children; micro-business mentoring; and more. President Suzanne de Berge shares that:
One of Seeds for a Future’s fundamental methods that contributes greatly to our program’s success is the engagement of women in a role that is culturally acceptable, while also helping them develop agency and strength. When participating women see they are capable contributors to family health, well-being, and finances, they are empowered in new ways and make new decisions.
As children and other family members experience better nutrition and health, families, and especially women, make new decisions about education, employment, microbusinesses, and even family planning.
