Did you see the latest voting rights news? In an OUTRAGEOUS decision, two far-right judges on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals just GUTTED the Voting Rights Act.
In a 2-1 decision, the court erroneously held that only the federal government — not private citizens or groups — is allowed to sue over unfair, gerrymandered legislative maps. Make no mistake — if this highly flawed decision is upheld, it will gut the Voting Rights Act and give far-right politicians across the country license to further entrench their own power.
This decision is outrageous — but not very surprising. For years, far-right unelected judges have attacked the Voting Rights Act, which has protected voters of color since the 60s. These radical judges won’t stop chipping away at the right to vote, and we must fight back.
That’s why we need to do everything we can to make sure Democrats take back the Majority next year. Can you rush a donation of $10 right away to help us fight back against this flawed decision to gut the Voting Rights Act?
