You should care about this race even if you’re not in Illinois

Indivisibles,

Marie Newman is the best choice for Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District, and with just a week before her primary, you only have a few more days to have an impact on her race.

Marie is a progressive champion, and she’s up against an anti-choice, anti-healthcare “Democrat” whose campaign is spending millions attacking Medicare for All. And what’s worse? This is a safe Democratic district, one of the ones where we’re best positioned to push for true progressive policies. (Which, by the way, is one big reason you should care about this race even if you’re not in IL-03.)

Local Indivisible groups endorsed Marie Newman late last year, and we followed with a national endorsement. We’re all in to ensure she wins, and we’re spending more than $100,000 to do just that. But with just 7 days before the primary, Marie needs your help:

If you’re ready to build a better majority in the House with strong progressive voices, click here to donate to Newman’s campaign, kick anti-choice Dan Lipinski out of office, and support Indivisible’s work across the country.

We know we have a LOT of work ahead of us this year -- winning the presidency, taking back the Senate, and expanding the majority in the House -- in order to win our priorities in 2021.

That’s why we’re getting started now, by engaging in key primaries like the one in Illinois’ 3rd. Our issues are just too important to leave them to conservative “Democrats” like Dan Lipinski. So we’re putting serious resources into getting Newman nominated:

  • We’ve sent multiple blasts of direct mail to over 60,000 voters in the district to boost turnout and get more Newman voters on board (and it cost us almost $80,000!).

  • Indivisibles have sent more than 100,000 texts to voters -- and we’re planning to send another 26,000 before the primary next week. Through those peer-to-peer texts, we’ve already identified more than 600 people who’ve pledged not only to vote, but to triple their vote by getting three friends to the polls as well. We’ve already spent over $6,250 on these texts, and we’re not done yet!

  • Indivisibles on the ground are knocking doors for Newman, and we produced trilingual canvassing flyers for them to reach as many voters as possible (to the tune of $3,000).

We endorsed Marie Newman because she shares the third district's progressive values: that healthcare is a right, that working families deserve a fair deal, that we should have an economy that works for everyone, and that immigrant rights need to be protected and expanded. That’s why we’re asking you today to make a split donation -- send support directly to Marie’s campaign and chip in to help us support Marie and fund all our work.

If you’ve saved your information with ActBlue Express Lane, your donation will go through immediately and be automatically split between Marie Newman and Indivisible Action:

Indivisibles are doing major legwork to elect Marie Newman and progressives across the country. As an organization, we provide the resources our groups need to text, call, and door-knock their way to victory, and we run ads and send direct mail to get the message out to even more people. And beyond that, we’re proud to be able to send funding directly to campaigns to fund their work. Thanks for being a part of our 2020 plans.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
