We’re coming up on Thanksgiving and I just want to say how thankful I am for you .

With your support over the last several months, we successfully united the movement to flip CA-45 blue and kick MAGA extremists like Michelle Steel out of Congress in 2024.

Labor leaders like SEIU , the National Union of Healthcare Workers , and the Orange County Labor Federation know that I will always fight alongside workers to make sure corporate executives are held accountable and no one is allowed to put profits over people.

Federal leaders like Reps. Katie Porter , Lou Correa , Linda Sanchez , and Jill Tokuda support our campaign because I’m committed to the families and communities across Southern California who currently do not have a voice in Congress with Michelle Steel representing them.

As a Vietxican daughter of a Mexican immigrant and a Vietnamese refugee, I have the support of organizations like ASPIRE PAC , BOLD PAC , and PODER PAC because they know I will work hard on behalf of marginalized communities in Orange County.

I couldn’t be more excited and proud to be heading into the Primary Election with the endorsement of the California Democratic Party and the support of Democrats everywhere.

But Thanksgiving and the holiday season also remind me of why I’m in this race in the first place. From gas to go visit family to groceries for a Thanksgiving feast, rising costs make everything harder for working people to afford, including the holidays.

I’m grateful to my family and my supporters for making this campaign possible – but I know that our work is just getting started.

For now, from my family to yours, have a happy and restful Thanksgiving. You’ll hear more from us after the holiday!

– Kim

Democrat Kim Nguyen-Penaloza is running for Congress in CA-45, one of the most competitive districts in the entire nation. The daughter of a Vietnamese refugee and a Mexican immigrant, Kim's story is the quintessential California tale of sacrifice, hard work, and dedication to community. At just 25, she became the youngest person ever elected to the Garden Grove City Council. Now, she's running for Congress to reduce prescription drug costs, increase housing affordability, invest in working families, and strengthen our democracy.
