Hello John,

My name is Rudy Erfle and I have had Parkinson’s for 15 years - since the age of 48.  When I was diagnosed, I decided that I would do my best to stay positive. But it’s not always easy.  I often “freeze up” and as a result, this spring, I had a bad fall that caused me to lose the function of my right hand.  Now, I need someone with me during the day to help me with simple tasks. Despite the difficulties, there are positives too.  People are kind, even strangers will stop to help me.  I appreciate those who make the effort - It makes me feel good and definitely helps with staying positive.

You’re hearing from me because there’s a big day coming up for Parkinson Canada and I want to make sure you know about it. Tuesday, November 28 is Giving Tuesday, an internationally-recognized day that marks the start of the giving season. And Parkinson Canada needs you!

Lucien Beauchemin, a generous donor living with Parkinson’s, is matching the first $45,000 in donations to Parkinson Canada on Giving Tuesday. In other words, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

John, please don’t miss the chance to double your impact when you give before midnight on November 28th. In fact, Parkinson Canada is already providing early access to their donation page if you would like to get a head start and have your gift matched right now

Another thing I appreciate, and a key part of staying positive, is fundraising for Parkinson Canada.  Parkinson Canada is an amazing organization that helps people with Parkinson’s on all different levels, including contributing to research and providing specialized services to improve daily life for those with the disease.

I’ll look forward to sharing more of my story with you in an email on Giving Tuesday.

From me and my entire family, thank you.  Your help and your donation are greatly appreciated by all of us.

Sincerely,

Rudy Erfle
