This fight is personal for me, John. When I was only 18, my father was shot and killed by a gunman, and it changed the trajectory of my life forever. The kind of loss that I experienced – and the grief I feel to this day – is something I wish no one had to know and yet millions of Americans do. It’s an unacceptable reality, and that’s why I fight alongside Brady to finally change our country.

Gun violence kills 117 people every single day — every single day. Those people aren’t just a number in a statistic, John. They are parents, siblings, grandparents, children, neighbors, and friends who are being needlessly ripped away from their loved ones by gun violence.
