News from Representative Allred

Dear Friend,

Ensuring our veterans have access to the best quality care has always been a priority of mine. I’m so happy to share that last week, the Dallas VA broke ground on a new Long Term Care Spinal Cord Injury Center, thanks to my bipartisan law. The new center will expand the long-term care wing at the Dallas VA to 60 beds and treat veterans living with spinal cord injuries and multiple sclerosis.

As Vietnam veteran, Albert Patterson, who’s had multiple surgeries on his spine put it, the new VA facility will be a godsend for veterans. We have a sacred commitment to care for those who serve our country. I was proud to work in a bipartisan way with fellow North Texan, Congressman Jake Ellzey to pass the Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Authorization Act into law to better serve veterans by authorizing funding to construct the spinal cord injury center at the Dallas VA and invest in VA facilities across the country, including a new VA medical center in El Paso.

I am so glad to see this project break ground in our region. I look forward to continuing to work with the VA to complete this project. We can do big things when we work together as Texans and I am proud to build on my bipartisan efforts, like establishing the Garland VA, to get our veterans the best care we can offer. I will always work with anyone to make sure we give our veterans the support, services and care they need when they return home.

It’s an honor to serve North Texas and those who served.

Sincerely,
