john — Can I tell you a story?

When I first moved to Minnesota with my husband Archie, I wasn’t involved in politics. I was working for General Mills and raising our two young sons, Sam and Mason.

But when our local elected leaders in Minnesota were ignoring the issues my neighbors and I were facing, I had to get more involved.

So I laced up my sneakers, loaded my kids into their stroller, and started knocking on doors in my community for local candidates for public office.

I learned the true value of organizing and meeting people where they are to talk about what matters to them. Our politicians were ignoring our needs, so I decided to speak up and raise our collective voices.

Once I got the bug of community organizing, I couldn’t stop.

I started to get more involved in local politics while I was starting my own small business. Later, I worked at Planned Parenthood and used grassroots organizing to empower women to speak out about reproductive rights.

john, I’ve served at the local, state, and now federal levels of government, but I’ve never forgotten my roots as a community organizer, knocking on doors with my kids in tow.

As a U.S. Senator, I still believe in listening to the voices of the community to hear what matters to them. I like to say that the people who are closest to the problem will know best what will fix those problems — and I take that lesson with me every single day in the Senate.

john, if you believe in this mission and want to support my work organizing and connecting with the community, please chip in a few dollars to my campaign today so I can keep up the good fight. [[link removed]]
