Missouri's Supreme Court upheld a ruling finding that Ashcroft's summary was deceptive and needed to be rewritten.

Friend,

?

Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft and Attorney General Andrew Bailey have held up abortion initiatives for months, preventing Missourians from collecting signatures to put the issue on the ballot. A trial court ruled that Ashcroft's summary language was deceptive, and the Western District Court of Appeals agreed, rewriting the summary almost in its entirety. On Friday, Ashcroft and Bailey asked Missouri's Supreme Court to take their appeal.

?

Yesterday evening, Missouri's Supreme Court denied the application for transfer to its court, effectively upholding the Western District's opinion. Ashcroft and Bailey's attempts to run out the clock and stop Missourians from accessing the ballot have ended with months of signature gathering lost.

The next steps to reverse Missouri's extreme abortion ban are choosing which of a handful of initiative petitions to run with and then collecting signatures. We'll keep you updated.

Attorney General Bailey was busy on Twitter with Stephen Miller to get attention for investigating a website that upset Elon Musk. Our tax dollars hard at work! I was interviewed about it. Sure would be nice to have an Attorney General who works for Missourians instead.

Exciting news!
